P 4: Giving and Receiving Effective Feedback
The fourth course in the PREVENT sub-program.
The Conflict Resolution Skills for Leaders program is comprised of three sub-programs:
- PREVENT
- MANAGE
- RESOLVE
Giving and receiving developmental (AKA critical) feedback effectively is both important and awkward.
This course examines the resistance and motivation that will enable you to move beyond awkwardness to action. Unpack practical tools for delivering feedback in ways that decrease defensiveness and increase shared understanding and behaviour change.
The final lesson in this course provides tips on how to effectively receive feedback, regardless of the skill level of the person delivering it to you.

- Normalize the challenges of giving and receiving feedback
- Gain insight into what motivates you to provide feedback
- Learn a process for providing behavioural feedback
- Develop sills on how to receive and find value in less than perfect feedback
What is Included
Each training module in this course consists of an engaging video presentation that overviews a key concept or skill. Each video has an accompanying PDF resource page for reflection. All PDFs can be downloaded and printed.
The course is capped off with a "Call to Action" video that challenges you to immediately apply and practice these new concepts and skills.
